Carroll Arts Center’s Fall Event Season
Films, Comedy, Music, Exhibits, Theatre
Fall head over heels during the Carroll County Arts Council’s amazing lineup of movies, close-to-home talent, and spooky festivities within the Fall 2024 season; all events being held at the historic Carroll Arts Center. Live Shows – From the Headliner Series featuring Scott McMicken & THE EVER-EXSPANDING and Wordsmith to the Sunday Classics Series presenting “On Broadway!,” you should not miss out on the countless live performances at the Arts Center. Justin Schlegel will present a night of belly laughs at BrewHaHa Comedy Night while the CCAC Children’s Theater troupe gives a heart-warming production of, “Once On This Island JR.” Common Ground Downtown will bring local bluegrass and Grammy-level pieces from Frank Solivan and Dity Kitchen, along with The Seldom Scene.
FLICC Film Series – The Film Lovers in Carroll County (FLICC), invites you each month to view a wonderful selection of films including Saturday Night Fever, Lincoln, On the Waterfront, and The Taste of Things. There will be two screenings of each movie at 1pm (captioned) and 7:30 pm.
Black American Film Festival – Hosted by Associate Professor of Communication and Cinema at McDaniel College, Dr. Erin Watley, CCAC is proud to celebrate Black storytelling that exposes patrons to a unique perspective of Black experiences. During the month of October, at 7:30pm, Dr. Watley will hold a brief introduction and a facilitated post-show discussion for each viewing. With the films include American Fiction, Kokomo City, Black Ice, and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, enjoy an extensive look into Black excellence in the arts.
Scary-Tale Evenings Week – A spooktacular week of events leading up to the annual late-night screening of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Take advantage of the BOGO ticket sale for Frankenstein and Young Frankenstein that gives a ghastly fright we all love. The Memory Lane troupe will present a creepy night of storytelling and improvisational theatre with FEAR! as the theme. And what’s Halloween without candy? Come by the Arts Center on Halloween day for free crafts and candy available between 12 pm – 7 pm.
Visual Arts Galleries – Current art exhibits open until August 31; view “Still” exhibit, that pays tribute to the creativity and imagination of Clyfford Still and the “Delicious” exhibit, created by members of the Carroll County Artists Guild. And prepare for the 22nd Annual Members Show from September 16 – November 9, showcasing local artists and members of the CCAC that will feature a wide variety of styles and mediums.

McDaniel College is proud to be the presenting sponsor of the Arts Council’s 2024 Fall season. McDaniel students, faculty, and staff can get $5 tickets to most shows and free small popcorn with their McDaniel ID.

The Carroll County Arts Council is located at 91 West Main Street in the magnificently renovated Carroll Arts Center, formerly the Carroll Theatre, in downtown Westminster, MD.
