Carroll Community College Hosts 3rd Annual Family Fun Fest

Carroll Community College (Carroll) will host the 3rd annual Family Fun Fest on Saturday, April 26th from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. on its Westminster campus. This outdoor event is free and open to the public. The rain date is Saturday, May 3rd.

The event will feature inflatables, drone simulations, as well as face painting, loose part play, tie- dyeing t-shirts, rock painting, sidewalk chalk art, sunflower seed planting, a scavenger hunt and a host of other activities. We will have numerous emergency vehicle demonstrations. The Maryland State Police Helicopter and a K9 demonstration will be present on our upper field. The Sherriff department’s Mobile Command Bus and DUI Truck will be available to tour, as will a local fire truck staffed with firefighters to teach children about the trucks and provide fire safety tips.

In partnership with Penguin Random House and the Carroll County Public Library, we will offer story times in the College’s Amphitheater featuring storybook characters. Penguin Random House will also provide free books ranging for all ages.

The children will have the opportunity to share in a meet and greet with the Dr. Suess character, Cat in the Hat and Llama Llama, from the well-known Anna Dewdney stories. Our story book trail that is set on our campus will have a special feature of The Berenstain Bears on the Moon by Stan and Jan Berenstain.

Proceeds from a raffle and the event’s community sponsors will support scholarships for Summer Kids@Carroll and Teen College@Carroll programs. Proceeds from the affordable concessions will support the Carroll Food Locker.
