Carroll Community College named to 2024 Executive Alliance Honor Roll

Westminster, MD ─ Carroll Community College (Carroll) was one of 43 companies and non-profit organizations named to the Executive Alliance 2024 Honor Roll Award for Women’s Representation.

Executive Alliance, which promotes women leaders in Maryland, accelerates the success and leadership of accomplished women by expanding their impact and influence through advocacy, education, and mentorship.

This award is designed to recognize and celebrate companies and organizations that are creative and encouraging in recruiting, developing, supporting, and advancing women in the workplace and on corporate boards. At least 30 percent of each Honor Roll Award organization's executive leadership and 30 percent of its board of director seats are held by women.

The Honor Roll award raises the bar for women’s representation in the C-Suite and board room. It is included in the Executive Alliance’s Annual Census of Women Board Directors in Maryland. The Honor Roll Award ties into the Executive Alliance’s Annual Census Report of Women Board Directors, which was released at the Honor Roll event.

“This recognition highlights Carroll’s unwavering dedication to creating an inclusive workplace culture where women are empowered to thrive and lead. Through strategic initiatives and a steadfast commitment to diversity, we have successfully cultivated a leadership team that reflects the rich diversity of talent within the organization,” said Dr. James Ball, president at Carroll.

All Honor Roll companies and non-profit organizations celebrated at Executive Alliance’s Honor Roll event held Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at Notre Dame of Maryland University.

The event featured a panel discussion of how women can advocate for other women and the best practices they have used to promote women’s representation.

“The Executive Alliance Honor Roll Award reaffirms Carroll's position as a leader in fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion within the workplace and beyond. As the institution continues to champion gender equality and pave the way for future generations of women leaders, it remains steadfast in its commitment to driving meaningful change and creating a more inclusive society,” said Mary-Kay Nevius-Maurer, chairperson of Carroll's Board of Trustees.
