Community Media Center of Carroll County and League of Women Voters of Carroll County Partner to Bring Candidate Forums to All Local Contested Races in Carroll County
Westminster, MD — September 3, 2026 — The Community Media Center of Carroll County and the League of Women Voters of Carroll County today announced a collaborative partnership to produce and host candidate forums for every local contested race on the ballot in Carroll County this election cycle.
The forums are designed to give Carroll County voters direct, nonpartisan access to the candidates running for local, county, and state offices, offering an opportunity to hear each candidate's positions on the issues that matter most to residents before heading to the polls.
"Ensuring voters have accurate, first-hand information about the people asking for their vote is at the core of our mission," said Robert Blubaugh, Managing Editor, Digital Content of the Community Media Center. "By partnering with the League of Women Voters of Carroll County, we're able to bring these conversations directly into the community and make them available to anyone, whether they attend in person or watch from home."
The League of Women Voters of Carroll County, a nonpartisan organization dedicated to encouraging informed and active participation in government, will help organize and moderate the forums, drawing on its long history of nonpartisan candidate events.
"Every contested race deserves a forum where voters can hear directly from the candidates in their own words," said Cheryl Steinbacher, President of the League of Women Voters of Carroll County. "This partnership allows us to expand our reach and make sure no race in Carroll County goes without this important civic opportunity."
Forum Details Candidate forums will be held for all local contested races in Carroll County, including Board of Education, Commissioners for Districts 1, 3 and 5, Delegates for Districts 5 and 42C, Senator for District 5 and Sheriff. Forums will be recorded and broadcast by CMC and made available for on-demand viewing.

Locations: September 16 at the Fire Activities Building, Taneytown, MD
All others at CMC Studio, Westminster, MD
Broadcast/Streaming: All forums will air live on cable channel HD-1072, online at www.carrollmediacenter.org and on YouTube.
The forums will be recorded for rebroadcast until Election Day on Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
