Habitat for Humanity of Carroll County Acquires 6.75 Acres for Workforce Housing Development
Westminster, MD – Habitat for Humanity of Carroll County is thrilled to announce the purchase of 6.75 acres in Westminster, Maryland, marking a significant step forward in addressing the need for affordable workforce housing in the community. Over the next 15 years, Habitat plans to build 28 homes on this site, creating opportunities for hard-working families to achieve homeownership and build brighter futures.
“This project represents a long-term commitment to strengthening our community,” said Scott Swartz, Executive Director. “Affordable housing is essential for a thriving workforce, and this initiative will help ensure that more families have a safe, stable place to call home.”
The success of this land acquisition was made possible through the generous support of The Kahlert Foundation. Their commitment to investing in the well-being of local families and communities has played a crucial role in making this vision a reality.
“We are honored to support Habitat for Humanity to ensure affordable housing is available in Carroll County for all. We are excited to witness the positive change this initiative will bring to both the families it serves and the Westminster community as a whole,” shared Greg Kahlert, President, The Kahlert Foundation.
Habitat for Humanity of Carroll County looks forward to working closely with City of Westminster and Carroll County officials to bring this much-needed project to life. Their collaboration will be essential in ensuring that these homes provide lasting benefits to local families and the broader community.
Habitat for Humanity of Carroll County is seeking community partners, volunteers, and donors to help bring this ambitious project to life. To learn more about how you can get involved, visit CCHabitat.org or contact Stephanie Averett at (410) 751-7722.
