J. Robbins in concert at the Carroll Arts Center

J. Robbins has been the singer, guitarist, and principal songwriter in several DC and Baltimore area post-punk rock bands since the late 1980s. He is also the owner and operator of the Magpie Cage recording studio in Baltimore MD. Robbins performs at The Carroll Arts Center on May 25 at 8pm as a part of the Headliner Series.

Robbins is best known for his work with Jawbox, Burning Airlines, and Channels. He also works as an accomplished recording engineer and producer, working with dozens of artists and bands throughout his career. Basilisk (February 2024), his most recent album release, combines his ambitious creativity with electronic influence throughout the melodies. Truth Cult, a rising emo-hardcore band from Baltimore, open the show. Their newest album, Walk the Wheel, was produced with J. Robbins.
