Mental Health Matters - Carroll County Joins NAMI Metro Baltimore

There is so much more to the Baltimore area than the big city -- Carroll County is the heartland of Maryland, and it's time for the heartland to talk about our minds. 1 in 5 people live with a mental health condition, but it takes an average of 11 years for people to seek help for it-- largely due to stigma. This stigma can lead to more serious mental health conditions that could result in hospitalization or even death.

At its core, NAMI Metropolitan Baltimore is a peer-led, non-clinical organization that seeks to end the stigma around mental health conditions through education, support, and advocacy. They offer:

- Community and Workplace Presentations centered around stories of real recovery

- Support Groups and Classes for people with mental health conditions

- Support Groups and Classes for families of people with mental health conditions
