CCYSB is seeking a Billing Specialist. The Billing Specialist will be responsible for providing support to the Billing Manager & assisting with the billing process for the Agency as it relates to client services.
Essential Functions:
- Manage the Evolve Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Verify insurance eligibility/benefits with individual policies and maintain current authorizations for client services (eligibility, in- and out-of-network benefits, coverage guidelines, and authorizations).
- Create Fee Agreements and/or Good Faith Estimates.
- Maintain client demographic information in EHR system.
- Process all client/insurance payments to include electronic fund transfers in the EHR system and post contractual adjustments as needed.
- Perform daily follow-up functions to secure payment and/or resolve outstanding accounts receivable for one or more of the assigned payer categories: Medicare, Medicaid, Most Commercial Policies and Self-Pay.
- Actively monitor, identify, research and rectify aged/denied claims.
- Gather and submit documentation to insurance companies to complete the credentialling of agency provider staff.
- Communicate with and respond to staff inquiries regarding client billing/insurance requirements and questions.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- High school diploma required. Post-secondary course work or degree in business management, business administration or similar field preferred.
- Minimum of two years of healthcare billing experience, preferred
- myEvolve experience (or similar electronic health records system).
- Strong familiarity with federal and commercial insurance plans.
- Active, working knowledge of CPT and Diagnosis codes.
- High level of quality awareness, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize tasks and work independently.
- Ability to operate computer programs such as Office 365, Email, internet.
- Ability to use general office equipment (computer, phones, copiers, fax, etc.).
- Ability to use initiative and judgment in scope of designated responsibilities to ensure that matters requiring attention are appropriately delegated or handled.
- Able to effectively communicate with clients, vendors, supervisors, co-workers, and other persons in writing and by telephone while remaining professional, pleasant, and respectful.
- Ability to conduct oneself as a team member through the use of collegial words and actions that support co-workers and Carroll County Youth Service Bureau’s philosophy, mission and vision.
Hours: 40/wk
Pay: $20.00/Hour
