Summary
As a Comprehensive Planner I, you will use your education and experience to provide analysis and guidance for land use planning. Your expertise will impact the development of the County through assistance with the preparation and implementation of various types of planning documents. Comprehensive Planning leadership will rely on you to aid in maintaining consistency with program parameters and goals.
Essential Duties
- Conduct surveys/studies data collection and analysis for rezonings, annexations, development regulations, and zoning ordinances. Perform mapping and GIS analysis to support planning efforts.
- Help develop and update comprehensive plans, zoning ordinances and other planning documents.
- Assist with developing and implementing citizen participation programs. Provide liaison service to assigned municipalities.
- Review development plans for consistency with adopted land use and functional plans recommendations and provide feedback.
- Apply current principles, practices, laws and regulations for planning, zoning, and land development.
- Develop and maintain statistical information, tables and reports.
- Present project information in work groups, meetings, and to the public.
- Ensure all work is complete and timely to support department goals. Evaluate feedback and procedures to improve efficiency.
- Invite collaboration and seek learning opportunities. Proactively assist peers to create a supportive work environment.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in planning or a related field
- One or more years of related experience
- A comparable amount of education and experience may be substituted for the minimum requirement.
Additional Information
- Requires criminal background check as condition of employment.
- Must be able to provide own transportation as needed for local travel.
- Will be required to work outside of standard hours.
