Summary
As a Comprehensive Planner II, you will use your experience to provide analysis and guidance for land use planning. Your expertise will impact the development of the County through assistance with the preparation and implementation of various types of planning documents. Comprehensive Planning leadership will rely on you to maintain consistency with program parameters and goals.
Essential Duties
- Conduct surveys/studies for rezoning, annexations, development regulations, and zoning ordinances. Perform mapping and GIS analysis to support planning efforts.
- Develop and update comprehensive plans, zoning ordinances and other planning documents.
- Develop and implement citizen participation programs. Provide liaison service to assigned municipalities.
- Review development plans for consistency with adopted land use and functional plans recommendations and provide feedback.
- Research planning practices and trends utilized in urban planning.
- Apply current principles, practices, laws and regulations for planning, zoning, and land
- development. Perform analysis of data to determine trends and draw conclusions from data.
- Identify and recommend funding opportunities to support planning related projects.
- Present project information in work groups, meetings, and to the public.
- Ensure all work is complete and timely to support department goals. Evaluate feedback and procedures to improve efficiency.
- Invite collaboration and seek learning opportunities. Proactively assist peers to create a supportive work environment.

Education and Experience
