Gerstell Academy, a private co-educational, non-sectarian leadership and college preparatory school, built upon our Mission, Motto, Leadership Principles, and Attributes, is now accepting applications for the position of Executive Assistant to the President. 


The Executive Assistant reports directly to the President of Gerstell Academy. This position requires exceptional communication skills, professionalism, discretion, and the ability to support a fast-paced office environment. The Executive Assistant is responsible for maintaining effective communication between the President's office and various internal and external constituencies, including the Board of Trustees, parents, faculty, and community members. This individual must understand, model, and integrate the Gerstell Academy Value System and Leadership Model in all aspects of their work. 

  

Primary Duties: 

  • Provide high-level administrative support to the President to ensure the efficient operation of the President's Office. 
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding matters pertaining to the President's office. 
  • Screen, direct, and respond to phone calls and inquiries with professionalism and tact. 
  • Manage and coordinate the President's calendar with discretion, prioritizing meetings and events as necessary. 
  • Prepare, proofread, and format documents, reports, presentations, and correspondence for the President. 
  • Assist the President with planning and executing special events, school-wide functions, and other key initiatives. 
  • Coordinate logistics for the President’s travel, meetings, and special engagements. 
  • Manage and reconcile expense reports and budgets for the President’s office. 
  • Maintain confidentiality and safeguard sensitive information at all times. 
  • Collaborate with the administrative team to ensure seamless communication across the school divisions. 
  • Act as a liaison between the President’s office and faculty, parents, trustees, and external organizations. 

  

Skills and Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required. 
  • Proven experience as an executive assistant or in a similar role, preferably in an independent school or educational setting. 
  • Professional demeanor with a positive attitude and welcoming disposition. 
  • Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities with attention to detail. 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, with the ability to learn and manage Blackbaud School Management Software. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality. 
  • A commitment to the values and mission of Gerstell Academy, including the ability to model leadership principles and support the school community.
