The City of Westminster is looking for a Wastewater Plant Operator to perform a variety of essential duties related to the operation of the Wastewater Treatment Plant including, but not limited to, the collection and control of flow, laboratory analysis, and the processing and discharge of effluent.
In this role, you’ll transform knowledge into hands-on experience by monitoring biological processing and wastewater flow, perform skilled water pollution control laboratory testing and analysis, and participate in the removal of sludge to comply with State requirements for safe sludge disposal.
From conducting water quality testing to learning how biological systems clean millions of gallons of water daily, you’ll be part of the essential process that keeps our communities safe.
High School diploma or GED and a Class C license required. Must have the ability to obtain a valid Class A license within one year on the job and a Class V Wastewater Treatment Certification from the State of Maryland which will result in promotion to Certified Operator.
This position is a non-certified operator position, starting with an hourly rate of $17.7680 per hour, plus $1.7768 per hour shift differential.
