Background: Caring Carroll is a 501(c) 3 organization that assists seniors 60 years and older to remain in their homes as long as possible by providing transportation to necessary appointments, running necessary errands, and providing friendly phone calls. Volunteers provide the non-medical assistance to the care receivers enrolled in the program.


Job Title: Volunteer Coordinator
 $15.00/hour Salary and Hours:16 hours/ week- 9:00 am-5:00pm two days per week, with flexibility required to accommodate outreach or community events.


• Volunteer Coordinator Roles and Responsibilities:
Recruits new volunteers by providing education and outreach at community meetings and events. 
 • Trains new volunteers by providing overview of Caring Carroll program and admission process, reviews the volunteer job description to determine desired volunteer roles, reviews and provides training about the Assisted Rides Database. 
 • Supports new volunteers in their desired roles. May accompany a volunteer on some ride requests. 
 • Represents Caring Carroll at the Chamber of Commerce functions. 
 • Coordinates the social phone call program by coordinating volunteers/care receivers and checking in with volunteers periodically to determine care receivers needs. Coordinates requests received from the community to assist our care receivers. 
 • Drives care receivers or runs a necessary errand, when other volunteer coverage is not available.


Qualifications and Educational Requirements:
High School Diploma required; Previous job experience of at least one year in customer service-oriented field; Must maintain confidentiality regarding volunteer and care receiver information. 


Desired skills include: Use the following computer programs: Microsoft Office programs as well as Excel and Word; Use the Assisted Rides Database to monitor ride/requests and volunteer coverage; 
Knowledge of Carroll County; Courteous phone etiquette; Able to work independently; Prioritize workload daily; Seek direction and clarification from Executive Director and have a current  driver’s license.
