Psychologist - Leading Mental Health Practice (Evidence-Based & Testing Focused)

What You'll Do:
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments: Administer, score, interpret, and report on a wide range of psychological tests (e.g., cognitive, personality, diagnostic, neuropsychological screeners) to inform accurate diagnoses and treatment planning for individuals across the lifespan.
- Deliver evidence-based psychotherapy: Provide individual, group, and/or family therapy utilizing empirically supported treatment modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), etc., tailoring interventions to meet diverse patient needs.
- Develop individualized treatment plans: Create measurable, patient-centered treatment plans based on thorough assessment findings and in collaboration with patients and their families.
- Manage crisis interventions: Provide timely and effective crisis assessment and intervention for patients experiencing acute distress or safety concerns, adhering to best practices.
- Maintain meticulous documentation: Ensure accurate, thorough, and timely documentation of all clinical activities, including assessment results, treatment plans, progress notes, and communication with external providers, adhering to ethical and legal standards.
- Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team: Work closely with psychiatrists, social workers, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated and holistic patient care.
- Contribute to professional development: Participate in regular case conferences, peer supervision, and continuing education to enhance clinical skills and stay current with the latest research and best practices in psychology.
- Mentor and supervise (if applicable): Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to pre-doctoral interns, post-doctoral fellows, or junior staff, fostering their professional growth and adherence to ethical guidelines.
- Engage in program development: Opportunity to contribute to the development and enhancement of clinical programs and services based on community needs and evidence-based principles.
What You Bring:
- Doctoral Degree: Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical, Counseling, or School Psychology from an APA/CPA-accredited program.
- Licensure: Current, unrestricted state licensure as a Psychologist in Maryland, (other state licensure consider).
- Psychological Testing Expertise: Demonstrated advanced competence in the administration, scoring, interpretation, and report writing of a broad range of psychological assessment instruments for various referral questions (e.g., diagnostic clarification, cognitive functioning, personality assessment).
- Evidence-Based Practice Focus: Strong theoretical and practical understanding of evidence-based psychological treatments and a commitment to their application.
- Clinical Experience: Minimum of 5 years, of post-licensure experience in a clinical setting, working with diverse populations across the lifespan. Experience with crisis intervention is essential.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex psychological information clearly and empathetically to patients, families, and colleagues.
- Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Ethical Practice: Adherence to the highest ethical standards of the profession and familiarity with HIPAA regulations.
